It’s a long way from California to Washington, D.C., but that doesn’t mean Democrats inside the beltway shouldn’t pay attention to what’s happening on the other coast.
On Friday, for example, Tom Perez, chair of the Democratic National Committee, released his statement on the June jobs report. Since the report was pretty good, showing a better-than-expected 213,000 jobs created, Perez decided to ignore the numbers and just slam President Trump.
No problem there, since that’s exactly the tactics Republicans used when the employment numbers were improving under then-President Barack Obama.
“With slow wage growth, rising health care premiums and skyrocketing gas prices across the country, Donald Trump’s reckless policies are hurting millions of hardworking families,” Perez said in his statement.
Pause here for California Democratic leaders to cringe.
